ABOUT

WHO WE ARE

Centro de Servicios Comunitarios (CSC), an economic development organization, and Certified Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWEB).  CSC Business Center’s purpose is to increase opportunities for Hispanic and Women owned businesses. Our focus is to help businesses become their own landlords and provide assistance to Hispanics and non-Hispanics entrepreneurs trying to establish or expand their business. CSC is part of a larger effort to customize a bilingual approach that will focus on building bridges between Hispanics and non-Hispanics within the local community through cultural awareness and collaborative educational opportunities.  CSC empowers entrepreneurs through training, educational business workshops, financial literacy for businesses, support, and resources so their businesses can grow and prosper. 

CSC has aided approximately 150+ businesses ranging from construction, grocery stores (carnicerias), landscapers, home cleaning services, restaurants, mobile vendors and many more. We have earned the trust and confidence of clients and the community. Most importantly, we inspire you to move forward to succeed in business.

HISTORY

Originally in 2005, Bertha Alicia had the opportunity to co-found Centro de Aprendizaje y Dessarrollo * Learning & Achievement Center (CAD*LAC) Copy Center in Wapato, WA. A non-profit organization, that specialized in providing bilingual assistance to Hispanic entrepreneurs who want to establish or expand their business. As a result, from this experience, she then formed CSC in 2011.

Bertha Alicia Garza
Founder and CEO

A native of the Yakima Valley, Bertha Alicia Garza is the Founder/CEO of Centro de Servicios Comunitarios (CSC). 

 

Prior to starting the Business Center. Originally in 2005, Bertha Alicia had the opportunity to co-found Centro de Aprendizaje y Dessarrollo * Learning & Achievement Center (CAD*LAC) Copy Center in Wapato, WA. A non-profit organization, that specialized in providing bilingual assistance to Hispanic entrepreneurs and families who wanted to establish or expand their business.  As a result, Ms. Garza discovered that she loved helping entrepreneurs and the community succeed and grow, she then formed Centro de Servicios Comunitarios / Community Service Center (CSC) in 2011.

Aurora Ortiz
Office Assistant / Bookkeeper  

Aurora has been with CSC’s since 2011. Aurora comes to CSC with 15+ years of administrative experience in a variety of fields. Acting as the gatekeeper for our center, she ensures that we are always working as quickly, efficiently, and effectively as possible. She is responsible for managing office systems, payroll, bookkeeping, administrative and clerical support, and event planning, 

Aurora earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, studied at Heritage University in Toppenish, Washington.

Synthia Hernandez
President

Synthia Hernandez brings more than 10 years of executive experience and a deep understanding of global cultures and business to her role as President of CSC.  Her responsibilities touch upon every facet of the company including strategy development; new business development; sales; marketing; consulting; contract management; general regulatory compliance; managing of technical resources and projects.  She also manages key consulting practices and growth areas, working closely with clients and consultants alike.

 

A results-driven strategist, Synthia provides expert relationship management and strategic guidance to clients. She builds trust through a demonstrated ability to optimize performance and achieve desired results, and has a passion for professional and personal development to continue to bring the highest value to clients.

 

Synthia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management & entrepreneurship studied at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

 

Stephanie Salinas
Office Manager

With over 12 years of experience in professional office executive assistant positions and a track record of strong performance in high-volume, high-pressure environments, Stephanie skillfully manages administrative duties and client relations for her colleagues at CSC.

 

As Office administrator, she ensures the smooth operation of the office with her robust knowledge of office management and efficient handling of client inquiries, consultations, and timely access to consultants as required. Stephanie also provides ongoing professional development, training workshops, and seminar presentations.

She is a graduate of Perry Technical Institute with a certification as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal.
