In 2005, Bertha Alicia, our co-founder of La Oficina, recognized a significant need in her community. She observed that Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs and community members lacked access to bilingual and technical assistance. This led her to realize the demand for such services among Spanish-speaking business owners seeking to establish or expand their businesses, as well as among individuals in need of various types of technical assistance and document preparation. To address this gap, she co-founded Centro de Aprendizaje y Desarrollo | Learning & Achievement Center (CAD*LAC) Copy Center in Wapato, WA.

Bertha's passion grew, leading her to start Centro de Servicios Comunitarios (CSC Yakima) in 2011, which later became La Oficina. La Oficina, renamed by its clients in 2022, is more than a business and resource center; it's a beacon of hope for minority and women-owned businesses and community members in Washington State, impacting countless lives.
